As we get closer and closer…I can’t believe I set myself up for this. September is going to push me to my limits. September is going to show me what I’m really made of. September is going to show me exactly how far I’ve come and what I can really do.

If it doesn’t kill me first.

September I face back to back to back weekends of pain…with a 5K kicker on the 4th weekend. And the hardest part of it all…the Coup De Gras…

On the 3rd weekend – Saturday, September 20th…I take on the Spartan Beast Vermont. 12+ miles of pain and suffering up, down, and all around Mt. Killington, VT.

What did I get myself into…

It’s been a hell of a year so far…and it’s not over yet. With the Falmouth Road Race, 4 half-marathons, and my first outdoor Spartan Sprint behind me (which, by the way, was SUPER hard)…I now have September to look ahead to…

and lucky me, it’s right around the corner.

So what, exactly, is so awful about September? Let me break it down for you:

Weekend 1:
September 6th (Saturday) – Run to the Rock Half-Marathon in Plymouth, MA
(Sponsor – Cape Cod Nutrition Corner)

Weekend 2:
September 13th (Saturday) – BoldrDash Mud Race (5K Obstacle Race) in Exeter, RI
September 14th (Sunday) – Michelob Ultra Boston 13.1 (half-marathon) in Boston, MA

Weekend 3:
September 20th (Saturday) – Spartan Beast, Vermont (12+ mile obstacle race) on Mt. Killington, VT
(Sponsor – Health Warrior)

Weekend 4:
September 28th (Sunday) – Craft Brew Races 5K (5K and craft beer festival) in Falmouth, MA
(Sponsor – Sportclips Falmouth)

whoa.

I’ve had triple-booked weekends (here, here and here), I’ve had back to back races in the same morning (here) but this…this is a whole n’other animal. I do not recommend doing this.

Best thing I can do is keep running, keep up my strength training, and make sure I’m about as prepared as I can be. I guess if you see me still posting in October you’ll know I’ve survived.

For once…I’m speechless. There’s really just not much more to say. Check out these videos for an idea of what I’m up against.

See you on the other side.
