Podcast Ep. 12 – Welcome Back, Dingbat.

Every once in a while the universe has to remind us that yes, we do in fact live in the real world. There are rules you play by, things you do and do not do. Even if you can achieve something as incredible as a 100 mile endurance run finish…a half-marathon can still take you down under the right circumstances (i.e. if you’re being stupid). Simple rules do still apply – they are, after all, RULES.

 


It can never just be easy, can it?

Having just totally slacked off and “recovered” for 2 weeks post-100 miler….I decided it was time to get back in the game. I signed up for and ran the South Shore Half-Marathon. Normally, this would’ve been a great idea. Too bad I didn’t do that whole “recovery” thing correctly… Plenty of favors I DIDN’T do myself prior to the 100, too, that made this whole process a bit more challenging than it needed to be. Lessons learned and reality once again found, It’s time to look ahead.

Now that I’ve come out the other side of my big 100 miler goal…and learned some valuable lessons…it’s time to figure out the big question…now what? It’s a lot to think about, a lot to consider, and some big things have to get figured out so the little ones can fall into place. Join me as I talk about avoiding PMS (not what you think), keeping your mind right, and working with what your body gives you.
